Spacefleet Sponsors US Mars Society

Following a sponsorship donation to the US Mars Society, which connects people with an interest in the human exploration and colonisation of Mars, a promotional panel featuring the SF logo has been placed on the Mars Society's Mars Desert Research Station.

 The MDRS is a habitat, designed to resemble an actual Martian base, in which small teams of people live for several weeks at a time, carrying out studies to simulate aspects of missions to Mars. This is important, useful work, which is all funded by voluntary contribution by members and sponsorship.

The Spacefleet Association, which published news and other content on astronomy and space technology, and which also serves to keep people in contact with the Spacefleet Project  (http://spacefleet.co.uk) has members from all over the world. One of the most recent is Andres Felipe, aged 10 from Bogota, in Colombia, South America, where he is a member of the astronomical society of the Bogota Planetarium.

The Spacefleet Association aims to assist and encourage young people worldwide to take up an interest in astronomy and space travel.

Model under construction

A model of the SF-01 for demonstration to interested investors, and the public at exhibitions, is under construction by Phil Mills. It will be about 1/15 scale.
